IPL 4, A 10 team, 74 match affair

With Rajastan Royals and Kings XI Punjab being cleared to take part in IPL players' auction, the fourth edition of IPL will be a 10 team, 74 match affair as per the decisions taken by IPL Governing Council on September 5. IPL 4 will have 70 league matches and 4 play-off matches. The teams would be divided into 2 groups of 5 teams each. Each team would play the other 4 teams in its group twice - home and away, One of the 5 teams in other group twice - home and away and  4 of the 5 teams in other group once - either home or away.
