Microsoft has finally launched its much expected operating system Windows 7. The new operating system is designed to boot up faster, look cleaner and streamline the way people work with fewer clicks and fewer annoying notifications.Windows 7 is also said to work better with plug-in devices, like cameras. Setting up home networking to share photos and music is also supposed to be easier. Several versions of the software will be sold with prices starting around $120.

Idea Cellular has announced new tariff plans will offer local calls calls at 40paisa per minute and 50 paisa per minute for all STD calls on any mobile or landline network in the country and 100 local and national SMSes free per day. The first two local SMSes will be charged at 50 paisa each, to get the free SMS service activated. To avail this tariff, existing Idea subscribers can purchase a special voucher priced at Rs. 14, whereas new subscribers can get it for Rs.37, with a talktime of Rs.15.
Idea Cellular has also introduced a Pay Per Second plan offering all ISD, STD and Local calls chargeable on per second basis. This plan also offers 750 local SMSes free per day, after the first 3 SMS which will be charged at 60 paisa per SMS. Existing Idea subscribers in Chennai & Tamil Nadu can avail this plan through a recharge of Rs. 15, whereas new subscribers can recharge with Rs. 38 voucher, with a talktime of Rs.15.
Aircel has announced the launch of RC21 which offer local Aircel to Aircel call just at 30 paisa, all STD and Local calls and SMS (Local and National) will be chargeable at just 50 paisa per minute on any mobile or landline network in India. To avail this existing subscribers can recharge with the RC 21 priced at Rs.21 which comes with a validity of 3 month and new subscriber will get this tariff inbuilt with the new prepaid card for first five month from the date of activation. Regular tariff will apply for First Local Call/SMS of the day will be charged at Rs.1 & First STD SMS/Call of the day will be charged at Rs.1.50.
Idea subscribers in MP & Chattigarh can now call local Idea numbers for just 40 paisa per minute, with the new voucher priced at Rs. 101. The plan also offers STD calls at just 60 paisa per minute to any mobile or landline in the country and all national and local SMS at just 50 paisa.New and existing IDEA subscribers can avail this offer through the Rs. 101 and Rs. 45 recharge vouchers for a period of one year and 3 months, respectively.
Vodafone today announced the launch of new FRC 56 for its Prepaid mobile subscribers in Mumbai which offers local calls at 40 paisa(V2V) and STD calls just at 50 paisa per minute to anywhere in India.To avail this offer customers can purchase FRC 56 voucher which comes with talk time of Rs.48 and valid for five month.The Existing Vodafone customers get this tariff on Rs.51 Bonus Card with zero talk time and valid for 5 months.

Bharti Airtel, India’s largest mobile service provider in terms of subscriber base has announced the launch of “tweetSMS” a third-party application which allows its users to receive Twitter SMS Updates directly to the mobile phone.Now Airtel subscriber can all Tweet at the price of a single SMS, they can connect to a huge community of Tweeters.An Airtel subscriber simply has to SMS Signup to short code 53000 at a cost of Rs 1, follow the instructions to complete the registration process and start Tweeting.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has inked a contract worth Rs.2000 crore with the NimbusCommunications Pvt Ltd for broadcasting rights of the cricket matches for the next four years.
Nimbus currently holds the right to broadcast all international and domestic cricket matches to be played in India which will end in March next year.
The new contract will be valid from April 2010 to 2014 and BCCI will get a fee of Rs 315 million for every match broadcasted by nimbus.
